Black Friday or Rose Friday. It's Up to You, Isn't It?
Black Friday? This Friday?
"For every kiss you give me, I’ll give you three," I hear the Ronettes sing.
That’s a great deal for Black Friday, don’t you think?
How about for every act of kindness, you’ll be rewarded twice?
For more acts of kindness, you’ll be rewarded multiple times.
And then more, and more, and more. Hence you get a cycle of magic.
You got me there. Yes. I am in a romantic mood nowadays.
Moreover, how about the humane and humble you are, the more love you’ll receive?
Now is that a guarantee, given the out of the ordinary strange times we live in?
Not even a tiny bit.
Still, someone ought to save the planet, don’t you think?
Where is Captain Planet to play with us?
As far as I remember, his song went something like:
“Captain Planet, he’s our Hero (within?),
Gonna take pollution (hatred, intolerance, toxicity, addictions, -alism, the never enough’s, intrusion, excessive sense of possession, narcissism, famine, greed, negligence and so on, and so forth) down to zero."
And if we were to adapt the lyrics sang by the Ronettes, say:
"For every petal of kindness you give away, the universe will send x petals back, someday." How would you adapt it, what's your version?
Don’t go underestimating the magical powers of the Universe!
Let us remember Lady Diana,
The Princess of the Hearts’ words:
"Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you."
That said, I declare myself marked safe during this past ”Black Friday”.
I have bought myself only books and face cremes I would have bought anyway, from a reputable Romanian brand. And — the universe has already answered back: 2 extra books “on the house”, PLUS! a pot of fuchsia roses via the grandma who visits the coffee shop where I have my “Sunday coffee” and write. She brings autumn flowers during this season. Today, exceptionally, she carried one, only one pot of fuchsia roses.
Like I said: the Universe has its ways! Don’t you think?
How have you been?
