Welcoming Another Snowless Christmas

Welcoming Another Snowless Christmas

Snow. Magical snow. And another snowless Christmas.

Blame it on climate change, blame it on Homo sapiens, blame it on the New Order of the Universe,

Christmas during the past years has been deprived of snow.

I remember my first Christmas In Bucharest. I was 9. It was February 1992 when I landed  here.  Julieta had bought me a pair of pink rubber winter boots.

I remember my first encounter with the Cismigiu gardens.

Truth be told, I don’t need to remember any snowy Christmas to know the joy and the happiness the sheer “act” of snowing brings.

It’s quite simple: Snow.

Snow reverberates happiness.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

I cannot put into words how much I've enjoyed walking within the snow covered alleys of the Cismigiu Park.

It has felt quiet, cosy and ... serene.

That's the word I was looking for.

To my belief, snow manifests serendipity. And tihna.

I love this Romanian word “tihna” - quiet, calm, and joyous well-being.

It’s those little things, the little things giving away the greatest of moments. Isn't it so?

As snowless as It will be, we still get to enjoy watching the Christmas tree. Spend time with our loved ones.

Read a book or two. And make love to the now.

Now you tell me, isn’t that mirth for the heart?

Let it be… Christms
