I find smooth box leather to be more luxurious. Yes it may scratch but over the years the scratches will blend in. I don’t really like leathers that feel overly treated or coated like epsom, liege or saffiano because they feel more plastic to me and you can’t appreciate the natural beauty of the leather.

After about 2-3 months, I noticed some cracks in the leather right at the joint where you flip the flap up and down to open the bag. I sent it to Celine and they resealed it at no cost to me and I got the back bag in about 7 wks.Cuz the leather definitely does not feel delicate and I even got confused that I got the liege version but I checked the tag and it indeed says it is box leather. I've never had box leather before and was always under the impression it was so delicate.
