When visited Kalkan 3 years ago there was a watch shop down by the harbour, near Hotel Pirat which we visited. Bought a watch which has been excellent. We are returning in June this year (hooray!) and wondered if this shop was still open. Can't remember the name of .
One of my holiday group purchased a fake Omega watch for £18.00 in Kalkan market last September. She thinks it was an excellent buy. It still keeps beautiful time and is delicate enough not to look like an obvious fake.I would say that the jewellery shops in Kalkan just after moonlight bar sell genuine wathches, apart from that most are fake - some are good fakes but some are not. And I can't believe the prices some of the fake watches sell for!6 years ago. Not specifically for Kalkan but watch shops are abundant in Turkish resorts. Bear in mind that those on display are bought by the kilo in Istanbul. The top-quality fakes are kept locked away and you have to ask to see them.
